Myxomatosis like VHD is a swift and sudden killer. The main source of infection is through insects, direct contact with an infected rabbit can also pass on the disease. All rabbits are at risk of the disease, inside or out.

Signs of Myxomatosis: 

  • Conjunctivitis
  • Swellings around the eyes and/or head
  • Swelling around the genital area
  • Grows lethargic and increasingly weak.

The only way to prevent your rabbit catching Myxomatosis is to vaccinate them, although it cannot guarantee that your rabbit will not catch myxomatosis it reduces the chances of, and the severity of the disease.
