VHD or Viral Haemorrhagic Disease is a nasty disease and a swift killer. Nearly all un-vaccinated rabbits who have VHD die. This emphasise the importance of having your rabbit vaccinated, and keeping up to date with vaccinations.

Symptoms of VHD may include:

  • Loss of appetite
  • Lethargy
  • High Fever
  • Spasms
  • Sudden death

VHD is spread by direct contact with infected rabbits, or indirect contact with contaminated faeces or urine. The best way to protect your rabbit from VHD is to vaccinate them. Rabbits can be vaccinated from 5-6 weeks old.
